Grant Thornton LLP

The Policy Board of Grant Thornton LLP has the responsibility for establishing the vision and strategy for the firm. The role of the Board (as set out in the Partnership Agreement) can be summarised as follows:

  • Vision and strategy for the firm
  • Recommend changes to the partnership agreement
  • Recommend partner admissions
  • Appoint the management officers
  • Approve budgets and financial statements
  • Establish task forces for specific purposes
  • Oversee the strategic relationships between partnership and both Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton and Grant Thornton International

The Board is comprised of 14 partners and one non-voting officer. 12 partners are elected by the partnership for three years terms (four members retire each year and four are elected). The Board also includes the Chief Administrative Officer, Executive Partner and National Managing Partner.

The Management Committee leads and manages Grant Thornton LLP by: developing (in collaboration with the Policy Board) the strategic plans of Grant Thornton LLP; developing and ensuring the successful implementation of the business and operation plans to support the strategic plans and; developing and sustaining high performance of both Grant Thornton LLP and its partners.

The Management committee is comprised of nine members (also members of the Board of directors) and has the power to review various management matters. The committee is comprised of the President and Chief Executive Officer, the General Manager and the eight Regional Partnership Vice-Presidents.
